Amdo Labrang Monastery Trekking
In the southwestern Gansu town of Xiahe, you will be trekking from Labrang Monastery to surrounding pastures and ruined old towns of Amdo region. Labrang Monastery, one of the six major Tibetan monasteries of the Gelupka Sect. You will travel overland from Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu, onto Linxia, a bustling town with a Muslim character, finally arriving at Xiahe, where you will join colorfully dressed pilgrims and lamas in a variety of religious ceremonies at the monastery. Unlike other companies' trips to Labrang, we not only visit Labrang Monastery but also expose out clients to the heart lands of Amdo Tibetan region for a few days trekking.You will have a chance to meet Amdo Tibetan nomads and stay with them in their herding tents.

Day 1 Lanzhou
We will meet you at Lanzhou Airport.

Day 2 Lanzhou to Linxia to Xiahe
After breakfast we will depart Lanzhou for Xiahe.

Day 3 Xiahe
We will start the day early to visit the Labrang Monastery.

Day 4 Start trekking to Ritrogong temple, and Serchen Thang valley, two small pass(3550m), plenty of yaks and sheep. Camp of nomads.

Day 5 Short transfer to Drakar(3200m), trek to Karnang ancient castle, visit Drakar Dawa and Nekhang grottoes.

Day 6 Transfer and visit Gartse Monastery, trekking to Luchu Tang pasture. Camp.

Day 7 Hike over Debun pass(3540m), view of Mt. Amnye Nyernri, with many castles and pastures.

Day 8 Trek to village and fields of Rebkong region, visit monastery of 16th century and old city. Xiahe transfer to Lanzhlou. Overnight at a good hotel.

Day 9 Lanzhou, trip ends at Lanzhou where you can join our extension trip to Dunhuang or Xinjiang
