A
century since, the churches in
these regions are still thriving.
French missionaries ventured into
landlocked valleys in western
Sichuan and Yunnan province,
spreading their religion a hundred
years ago. This hike, the original
route taken by the French
missionaries in the 1900s, will
take you to meet the Catholic
Tibetan, Nu and Lisu communities
along the Salween and Mekong
rivers. The trip offers you
opportunities to attend the Sunday
churches hidden the isolated
mountains of Mt. Biluoxue as well
as the great rivers trenches of
Salween and Mekong which divided
by those awesome mountains that
have never been tramped upon by
outsiders.
