Yunnan
province in southwest China
borders Vietnam, Laos and Burma.
It is regarded as the most
culturally diverse province, with
a multitude of fascinating
minority groups. The Dai ethnic
people live in compact communities
in Xishuangbanna, the southern
region of Yunnan, known locally as
'Banna'. The sub-tropical region
is enhanced by exquisite bamboo
houses, charming Dai women in
colourful clothes, and a rich
array of botanical life. This
Eight-day itinerary takes you to
the villages of the Dai and other
minorities, where we spend the
nights as guests in their village
huts.
