This
beautifully scenic trek takes you
across the northwestern plateau of
Yunnan, traditionally occupied by
the ancient Yi, Mosuo, Naxi,
Tibetan and Bai ethnic groups.
Discover and experience each
tribe's unique heritage, religions
and lively cultures. Walk on the
trails of less traveled through
Tiger-Leaping Gorge, Haba Snow
Mountain, Luoji River and Shudu
Lake. Tucked between the Yulong
Snow Mountain and the Haba
Mountains, Tiger Leaping Gorge
offers one of the most attractive
hikes in Southwest China. A
thunderous roar of the gushing
river welcomes you as you approach
the 16-kilometer gorge, which runs
along the upper reaches of the
Yangtze River.
Gyeltang
(Ch. Zhongdian) is a very
attractive pure land that is
located in the northwest of Yunnan,
near Tibet. It is a wonderful
place with snow mountains, clear
lakes, huge monasteries, wild
grasslands, white sheep, strong
yaks, and black-necked cranes. It
was well known to the world for
its untouched nature, intimate
relationship among people,
peaceful life without too many
desires and the harmony that
existed between human being and
nature.
