Regarded as a sacred
area by Tibetans - every stunning
vista here (of which there are
many) is celebrated with a small
gompa, prayer flags or mani
stones. On this adventurous trip
you will take in relatively remote
areas of Tibetan culture - small
towns reminiscent of the wild
west, rolling landscapes
characterized by wheat and barley
fields and Tibetan countryside
homes, and the spectacular natural
beauty of Yading nature reserve's
snowcapped mountain peaks. The
three peaks Chenrezi, Chanadorje,
and Jampayang are named after and
believed to contain the essences
of three Tibetan Gods---Avalokitesvara
Bodhisattvas, Manjusrti and
Vajrapani who are supreme deities
representing Great Compassion,
Wisdom and Strength. Like Mt.
Kailash they are circumambulated
by Tibetans from near and far. We
will hike around the three peaks
stopping at several monasteries
enroute completing our pilgrim
trek on the wildflower strewn
alpine pastures.
