This
is a comprehensive tour of Yunnan,
in southwest China, one of the
most culturally fascinating and
scenically spectacular provinces.
Bordering Burma, Laos and Vietnam,
it is home to a multitude of
ethnic minority groups. Many of
these people have migrated over
the centuries and settled in the
hills and river valleys of the
neighboring South East Asian
countries. This journey around
southern Yunnan is based in the
region of Xishuangbanna. With its
sub-tropical climate and rich
plant life, it is also home to
many species of wildlife. On this
trek, you will spend nights as
guests of the minority people,
staying in their village huts.
Then venture to western Yunnan to
visit the beautiful towns of Dali
and Lijiang and enjoy a few days
of walking in Tiger Leaping Gorge,
before finishing the Yunnan
experience in the Tibetan plateau
town of Zhongdian and flying back
to Kunming.
