Yunnan is definitely one of the most ethnically fascinating and scenically stunning provinces in all of China. Home to 25 of Chinas minority groups and over half of all China's plant and animal species - it is easy to understand why Yunnan is highly favored by all kinds of travelers. On this biking journey you will experience the extraordinary natural wonder Jade Dragon Mountain and Lijiang-the world heritage town, Tiger Leaping Gorge-the deepest gorge in the world with it's towering walls and dramatic beauty, meander along the majestic Yangzi River. We will climb the pass that leads us to Tibetan plateau. You can expect extraordinary hill climbing and unique culture experience of the Wild West Tibetan town of Shangri_la. We will also pay a visit to Sumzanlin Tibetan Lamasery where some 600 Tibetan monks are practicing Yellow Hat Sect Tibetan Buddhism. We leave the plateau and down hill all the way to Shaxi, an extremely quiet and lovely village was once the center of the ancient caravan trading post. Our cycling trip finishes in Dali, the historical city and we will happy to relax in the laid back cobble stoned town of Dali where you can stroll around the local markets. Yunnan is no doubt a world class cycling destination!

Day 4  Tiger Leaping Gorge
A free day to rest and explore this awesome deep gorge.
 
Day 5  White Water Terrace
Ride out of Tiger Leaping Gorge to Bai Shui Tai. 

Day 6  Shangri_la
Scenic ride to Zhongdian (Shangri-La). 

Day 7 Shangri_la
Explore the Tibetan town of Gyalthang and surroundings. 

Day 8  Stone Drum Town
Ride to Stone Drum town and Yangtse Valley 

Day 9  Shaxi
Ride into the heart of rural Yunnan to Shaxi Village. 

Day 10 Shaxi
A free day to rest and explore this lovely village.

Day 11  Hot Spring town
Cycle to Er Yuan Hot Springs.

Day 12  Dali
Ride to historical Dali town.

Day 13  Kuming
Transfer to Kunming. Trip ends
